toddcurry Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Image::Magick is installed on your servers, but there may be a configuration problem -- or rather, there IS a configuration problem so far as Movable Type is concerned. When uploading an image through movable type, MT detects Image::Magick (happy, happy, joy, joy), so it gives you the "create a thumbnail page". When you enter in the appropriate information and click enter, the server blows a gasket: >Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, admin@totalchoicehosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apache/1.3.27 Server at server10.totalchoicehosting.com Port 80 Can you guys take a look at this? I know some other MT users have been baffled by this MT/I::M conflict. When I::M is configured properly, and plays nicely with MT, it is just fantastic (I have MT installed at another site on another hosting company). I can tell you that if I can get this to work properly HERE, that hosting company is history and you'll get another account from me . Most gratefully, Todd Curry Quote
rayners Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Well, after playing around with it for a couple minutes on rayners.org's server, I think I may have found the problem. It seems that the perl module Image::Magick may not be fully installed, or it's installed in non-standard place. I'll try and catch up with Bill and let you know if I find out anything else. More on this later. Edit: Perhaps I was wrong. I am getting the exact same errors on my own machine at home. This is getting weird. Time to read some documentation. Quote
rayners Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Whoops, seems my initial look through the documentation was faulty. I got a function name wrong, and that's what was generating the error. Time to do some more testing and investigation. Quote
rayners Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Okay, here's what I found. I found a definate error within the library, and that is why Image::Magick is not working at the moment. It may be the case that the ImageMagick library, which Image::Magick uses, may be in need of an upgrade/rebuild. I'll have to get in touch with Bill to okay it. I'll let you know if that solves the problems on my server. Update: Talked to Bill, and sent all the information I gathered to Alan to work things out. Keep your fingers crossed. Quote
rayners Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Hey, I've got a vested interest in seeing this working. So don't pretend there is any form of altruism involved here. Quote
toddcurry Posted February 23, 2003 Author Posted February 23, 2003 Alan, Bill and the team FIXED THIS PROBLEM today! try uploading a pic to your MT and se if the thumbnail works (they had to patch all the servers with PerlMagick). Mine works great (on two separate servers). Thanks to all for your awesome help on this! Todd Curry Quote
rayners Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 I still seem to be getting the error with my test script on server4, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Update: Talking to Bill, they just haven't gotten to server4 yet. I can wait a few minutes. Thanks a bunch for getting this worked out Alan. Quote
