Good Call, KW!  Man, it has been one of those weeks.

I am writing my note right now and will get it to you this weekend.

Thanks.

Lianna

any update on the webmail to SSL process?

I didn't forget, I was just taken away from writing the steps for a more pressing matter. You asked for it:

Here goes: (somebody test it and doublecheck me, k?)

1. Go to ******/webmail and click the link for "Click for Secure Site"

2. Accept the security alert window by clicking Yes.

3. Enter your login info

4. Highlight the address in your browser's address bar and copy it (CTRL-C).

5. Access your cPanel

6. Click Manage Subdomains

7. Create a subdomain like securemail and click Add

8. Click Go back, to get back to the Manage Subdomains screen

9. Click Setup Redirection for that subdomain

10. Click in the text box, highlight the existing http:// and delete it.

11. While still in that text box, CTRL-V to paste the address copied earlier.

12. Click Save.

13. Log out of cPanel and test http://securemail.****** to make sure that you access the secure mail login.

when i do that, i have to enter my cpanel login and password.. it pops up and asks me to enter my password for realm "webmail" and then the only thing it accepts is my cpanel user/pass...

is that the way it works for you?

You do have to login, but as any mail user that you have configured. To use a username other than your cpanel username and pass, you must enter the full email address in the windows login popup.

For example:

I entered into my addressbar: http://stoverdatasystems.com/webmail

I am prompted to login by windows and I type username: lianna@stoverdatasystems.com and that mail account's password. (my cpanel username is not 'lianna').

That process dumps me to the *pick Neomail or Horde* page. That's where I can pick the Click for Secure Site link.

This is all relating to items #3 and 4 in my list.

But you only have to do this once to get to the correct address. Once you get to the address, you can copy it and paste it into the subdomain redirect.

From that point on, you will only be promted to login (by windows), once, then it will prepopulate the Horde login screen and you just Login.

These are the steps for setting up making it easy for you.

you can also use a small Javascript to add to a page on your web site for signing in. It will still take you to the Horde screen, but it will be prefilled, and you bypass the Horde/Neomail option screen.

take a look at the script at:

Warning, the link for the live example may not work - I am in the process of redisigning these support pages for TCH.

Ok, here's the steps to make it easy.

Skip the first 4 steps from above.

Start here:

5. Access your cPanel

6. Click Manage Subdomains

7. Create a subdomain like securemail and click Add

8. Click Go back, to get back to the Manage Subdomains screen

9. Click Setup Redirection for that subdomain

10. Click in the text box and delete the http:// that is already there.

11. Type in the text box https://******:2096/horde/index.php

12. Click Save.

13. Log out of cPanel and test http://securemail.****** to make sure that you access the secure mail login.

It prepopulates the Horde login, so you really only have to login once. and then hit Enter.
