amansker Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 A client changed and forgot the phpbb forum admin pw. As a reseller, can I recover this somehow? Quote
TCH-Don Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 you can go into cpanel > Manage MySql and create a user and password then assign that user to the phpbb Quote
amansker Posted February 28, 2004 Author Posted February 28, 2004 Thanks for the info. I created a new user and attached to the sql db, but still cannot log in. I've had pw problems in another forum under my reseller account. After creating the forum I couldn't log in. A TCH moderator had to set up the account. I'm afraid something is screwed up in my reseller account. I created a second and then third forum under this account and cannot log into either of them using the /cpanel user/pw. Same problem as before. I need someone on your end to check it out. Should I take this to another topic area, or can you help me out? thanks. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 You might want to open a help desk ticket (link above) and the tech guys should be able to help you get it reset. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted February 28, 2004 Posted February 28, 2004 Sorry I took so long to reply. If you haven't opened a ticket yet? Register a new user(or use a current account with a known password). Go to phpmyadmin. Open the database for your board and select phpbb_users. Select the Browse tab. Find the user you wish to use. Select the Edit icon next to it. Then change user_level from 0 to 1. That account will now have admin privileges. You can contiue to use that account or log in to the admin panel and assign a new password to the original. Quote
