carpyeditor Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Hello, My current hosting company, the evil avahost.net apparently lost all my files during an "upgrade" with their OS. Yeah right. Now, I'm without email and my site is down. I run a small business through my site and email and I need desperately to get back up. Problem is, avahost is ignoring all of my inquiries, and they have no phone support. In fact, when they finally do respond, this is the pigeon English response I get, with no resolution: I am sorry, was problems during upgrade of kernel on your server. --- AvaHost Sales Now, how am I supposed get my business up and running again with that kind of service? The question here is, how can I tranfer the domain to totalchoice? My current site is managed using Cpanel, but there's nothing there right now. I'm sure my webmaster has backups of all my files, so that shouldn't be a problem. But I'm concerned about getting my email up and running ASAP. Can anyone help? Quote
HCSuperStores Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 You can still transfer your domain names using your registrar, where you bought your domain names. Usually this is different than your hosting company, but not always. What are your domain names? I'll look if you're having trouble find out what to do. If you're having trouble getting your web sites as they were, take a trip to the "Wayback Machine" at http://www.archive.org/. I was able to rescue a client of mine by using their information and created a relationship for life. I'm new here, but I've been around the web almost since it started. TCH has exceeded my expectations in many areas. Let me know if I can help you get things back up! Bill bill2002@adelphia.net Yahoo IM: bill_hermonat Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 You can just change your name servers at your registrar to point to us. You would get your DNS after signing up with us. Then you could upload your files and create email accounts using the information that would come in your welcome letter. Quote
