TCH-Thomas Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Why does the attached gif move in my computer but not when its uploaded on my server? Quote
krieser Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 It looks like the animation is cycling through once viewing it in this forum - but just once... EDIT: Does it loop properly on your pc? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 12, 2004 Author Posted February 12, 2004 Does it loop properly on your pc? Yep, it all looks good here (as in the party guy continues to blow that thing. Not sure what you call it in english). Quote
RJSkon Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Thomas When I "Save Image As" and download it to my hard drive, the animation works fine and keeps repeating. Richard Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 12, 2004 Author Posted February 12, 2004 When I "Save Image As" and download it to my hard drive, the animation works fine and keeps repeating. Then its even more weird, cause it is not repeating/moving either here or on my server. Quote
RJSkon Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Thomas When I placed your image on a page and publish it, the animation does not work, yet in CompuPic (Digital Content Manager) the animation works. Check it out here, http://rjskon.com/thomas/ Richard Quote
DarqFlare Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 When I viewed it in my browser, it cycled through once and stopped... I don't have much experience with GIF files, as I've only made them using Paint Shop Pro, and it had an option to loop them forever... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Same here, cycle once and stop. Viewing with IE. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 12, 2004 Author Posted February 12, 2004 Hm... It must be the little guy inside the computer doing this. I mean if it works in my acdsee, animation shop and in Richards CompuPic it should work on the net. Also, I made no difference in making this than any other gif i have done. There is not so many gifs on my site but one i have done is the spinning s (and logo) on Liannas site. And that one is made exact same way, just a different effect. Quote
borfast Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 (edited) Thomas, I opened your animated GIF with The Gimp (Linux's Photoshop) and saved it again, making sure that the "loop forever" option was checked. Have you checked that when you created the animated GIF? It works on my computer, now. Edited February 12, 2004 by TCH-Raul Quote
kaseytraeger Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 I didn't read far enough down in the forum to see that TCH-Raul had already modified the gif to loop indefinitely. I guess in my over exuberance to fix something, I just jumped on it, so I ended up doing the same thing! Anyway, when I opened the graphic in my Animation Shop program, the properties showed it to only loop once. Kasey Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 Hm, sorry guys. I missed that setting since i had never had to change it before due to some magical thing, dont ask me why. Still what i dont understand is why it loops continuosly in acdsee and other programs but not on the net? Quote
DarqFlare Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 So, are you going to use Raul's or fix up your own copy of it? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 So, are you going to use Raul's or fix up your own copy of it? You´ll see next time someone have a birthday here. Quote
borfast Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Thomas, perhaps ACDSee has some option for looping animated gifs forever, even though they're supposed to play just once... Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 14, 2004 Author Posted February 14, 2004 Hm, I didnt think of that. I will check. Thanks. Quote
