Deverill Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 Hi folks, I know several of you have the MX version of DW and wondered if you'd share with me your opinions of whether the upgrade is worth it. I know all the hype they have on the MM site but I want to get the scoop from my family - is it worth it to upgrade? Quote
borfast Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 I only used MX, not MX 2004 but I can tell you that the difference from version 4 (of both Flash and Dreamweaver) is amazing. I know that DW MX 2004 is very directed to standards compatibility, which, in my humble opinion, is of great value. So if you're using version 4, I'd say yes, it's worth the upgrade! Quote
bellringr Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 I use 4 at home and MX at work, and I would say that if you do much web design at all, get the upgrade. I'm such a casual site builder at home that it's not worth it to me, but I was sure glad to get MX at work. Quote
Deverill Posted February 8, 2004 Author Posted February 8, 2004 Thanks for the comments. Compliant with standards, eh? What a concept! Now if we can only get the browsers on board... Quote
RockNRollPig Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 MX 2004 is a lot more friendly when it comes to coding CSS and PHP. Quote
Deverill Posted February 8, 2004 Author Posted February 8, 2004 MX 2004 is a lot more friendly when it comes to coding CSS and PHP. Perfect. Just the reason I needed to upgrade! I'll let y'all (I have a permit to say that word because I grew up in Kentucky! ) know how it turns out for me. Maybe I'll even write a review of sorts for others considering it... but then again, it'll probably be MX2005 before I get around to it Quote
