Odd Problem With Flash Swf's

I have just got a TCH package, and want to put a temp. small flash movie on the home page of my site saying "coming soon"

 

I created a page, uploaded it, and went to the site (http://www.chrisps.com/index.html)

 

But it just doesnt load - it just says opening page.

 

I stripped it down to the bear minimum code just to get the flash movie displayed, and it still didnt work - i put the exact same page on my computer's web server, and it works fine, and if goto http://www.chrisps.com/login.swf it also works fine. If i put an html file that just says "hello" it works fine, but it just doesnt want to load the html page that contains that swf

 

Any ideas?

I just tried your index page and it loaded fine.

I see the flash using either of those links (using Mozilla). The index.html link shows the flash pretty small, the direct link to the swf shows it full size.

Works fine here, too. Are you sure you have the Flash plugin installed on the browser you're using?

Lol yes i do have flash installed - it loads from running on my local web server - it is probably microsoft being microsoft again!!! I will try it on another pc

but it shows up fine for

http://www.chrisps.com/

http://www.chrisps.com/index.html doesn't work.

 

I'd start by making sure the page has the /index.html, or /index.shtml extentson if it's going to be your homepage.

http://www.chrisps.com/index.html is not there, the file is called index.php, not index.html...

But it's strange, because I could swear that I clicked the link the first time and it worked...

 

Anyway, http://www.chrisps.com/index.php works fine.

http://www.chrisps.com/ works fine for me.

 

Remeber that all you need to do is go to your root of the site and it will find the index file.
