Hi, I'm a newborn family member

My site has successfully propagated, but mail doesn't work.

In DNS File MX Entry Maintenance I found:

mysubdomain.****:

****: somebodys.net

I suspect this 'somebodys.net' thing is wrong. So what should I enter instead mail.****?

Thanks!

Well, don't break the internet and blame me , but mine is this:

>domain.ext: domain.ext
sub.domain.ext:
sub2.domain.ext:
sub3.domain.ext:
subetc.domain.ext:

basically what you said minus the mail in front. but i don't know if this is applicable to all domains, or what, but that's how mine is.

Thanks! It doesn't work, though. I'm trying to change MX and it says:

The MX entry has been changed. The local mail configuration has been updated! But that's not true. When I click 'Modify MX Entry' again somebody's shinton.net is still there as MX. I guess my domain name is not Fully Qualified  or cpanel is drunk already

Happy New Year!

sts,

You might open a ticket and ask TCH to check the actual files to make sure they are right, it's hard to tell without being able to see them

::pokes Don:: I think sts meant MX as in mail records..not dreamweaver

I went to the help desk yesterday after I realized I can't fix it myself, but hesitated to submit a ticket because... well, it seemed weird to me that I must enter not only username, but password as well. It's like I call the bank and say "I believe there is a mistake on my bill" and they say "Sure, we'll help you right away ma'am. Tell us your credit card number, expiration date and this security code printed on the back of your card"

No really, don't TCH have administrative access or something? [i don't know how you call it].

Could you please explain?

There is no risk in posting your username and password in the helpdesk. There are administrative accesses, but to make the support job as easy as possible, we ask that you provide your username and password so that we can access your account.

Different that the bank....we can't access your MONEY.

Yes, we have admin access, some problems require logging in as a user in order to see them. Plus it also helps us verify that you are who you say you are.
