Neonblitz Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 I am trying to connect to my MySQL database remotely from Dreamweaver MX 2004. I have installed the MySQL DB in Cpanel, and setup the username and password. When I open the MySQL connection in Dreamweaver, these are the DB fields: Connection Name; MySQL Server; User Name; Password; Database I have filled these out various ways. including using acctname_username and acctname_database name. I get an error: access denied. Can someone who has connected with Dreaweaver to MySQL remotely give me the correct configuation. Thanks Michael Quote
Neonblitz Posted December 8, 2003 Author Posted December 8, 2003 one other thing. all my support email from totalchoicehosting is being deleted by my web host, by Postini. So I haven't been seeing any support emails. Quote
Head Guru Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Sorry it is early here in Michigan, but maybe I have lost something in my translation of your post. Who is postini? Why are they deleting our emails? If they are your webhosting company then where does TotalChoice come into play? Lots of questions... I need more coffee! Quote
Boojum Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Bill, Postini is a web-based e-mail spam filtering service to which many smaller ISPs--such as my previous one--subscribe. However, it is not supposed to delete anything unless instructed to do so; it should hold suspect e-mails in "quarantine" pending the recipient's review. And it is also supposed to be possible for the user to configure the service so as not to quarantine items from specified addresses. Of course, questions do exist as to the service's actual reliability. I found it clunky and quirky, with an annoying tendency to quarantine all the mail I did want while letting spam from gobbledygook addresses, containing offers to add credit card capability to one's site and so forth slip right on through. Boojum Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Note: Upon further review, I realize that neither of the preceding posts attempts to answer the original question posed by this thread--and I simply don't know the answer. I hope this issue will soon be resolved by a competent authority. Quote
