ikoki Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 I've got two domains and two different hosts, tch being the better of the two, of course, but i'm using the "zero" theme from FP2002 on both sites and on the other site the banner (zerbana.gif) is animated, the 1's and 0's scroll behind the text but they dont on tch, i'm using all the same settings for the theme (vivid colors, active graphics, background picture and css all enabled) but it's just not working, curious if this is a tch thing if there's a work around or any other advice. Thanks in advance DJ Quote
TCH-Andy Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 Hi DJ, Welome to the Family Doesn't sound like a "tch thing". Can you let us know the sites, and we can have a look. Andy Quote
ikoki Posted November 12, 2003 Author Posted November 12, 2003 The image is on tch at http://ikoki.com/home.htm and it's working at http://djsweb.net Thanks again, DJ Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 They are not the same image or size ikoki.com/home.htm home.htm_cmp_zero110_bnr.gif 3909 bytes djsweb.net/ index.htm_cmp_zero110_bnr.gif 20545 bytes Quote
ikoki Posted November 12, 2003 Author Posted November 12, 2003 Ok, didnt notice that. But I'm using the same theme from the same version of frontpage on the same computer under the same user. the files at least have the same file name name now since i put them both on the front pages http://ikoki.com http://djsweb.net but they're still different sizes and i really cant think of *anything* i've done differently between the two sites except use different hosts. i've also already gone thru and uninstalled everything then deleted all the files and made an entirely new site, same thing. also just published the page to the local machine rather than tch and the banner is animated. *beats head against wall* any ideas or suggestions? Thanks again, DJ Quote
natimage Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 I'm wondering if maybe something is getting lost in the upload process. I don't use FP...so I'm reaching with this suggestion. Maybe it will spark some other thoughts. Quote
Lianna Posted November 12, 2003 Posted November 12, 2003 Please forgive my ignorance of FrontPage, but is there a different insertion method used for animated gifs and static gifs? Reason I ask: The software that I use to create most of my webpages has a special Insert option for Animated images. If I insert using the Insert > Image, then I get a static (single frame) image. If I insert using Insert > Animated image, then I get the animation. Just a thought.... Quote
ikoki Posted November 13, 2003 Author Posted November 13, 2003 Tried alot of different things in frontpage and nothings worked yet. As a band-aid however i've found that if i save the page locally publish thru frontpage then re-upload the _derived folder thru smartftp it gets the right pictures up there with animation. Guess it's just something to play with. Thanks for the suggestions tho. Rock Sign DJ Quote
TCH-Dick Posted November 13, 2003 Posted November 13, 2003 Have you tried reinstalling the FP extensions? I had so many problems with FP that I switched to DreamWeaver. Quote
ikoki Posted November 13, 2003 Author Posted November 13, 2003 yeah, i went as far uninstalling extensions and deleting *EVERYTHING* off the server, there's a few other active graphics on that theme too that there's no problems with, it's just that banner. kind of curious if it might be some kind of error with the transfer mode but cant find an option for it anywhere.......... at least i've got the band aid for now. just a pain to have to publish with frontpage then open smartftp fix the banner graphic when i'm finished...lol...oh well.
