deermouse Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 I have a number of sites that are currently hosted with ICDSoft. ICDSoft is very good, but they do have a few gaps in their services that you may provide support for. Do you support JSP (Java Server Pages) and domain parking? Quote
Head Guru Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 We do not support JSP. We can park pages, but I think the no jsp will kill the deal for you. Sorry Bill Quote
deermouse Posted October 10, 2003 Author Posted October 10, 2003 Thanks Bill, The JSP issue isn't necessarily a show stopper. Even though I'd really like it I don't have JSP now. You have some other things I could really use like MySQL 4 and upgradeable host packages and reseller packages. ICDSoft is only offering MySQL 3.2, though I've asked them to upgrade they claim version 4 isn't ready for prime time yet. When I asked them about getting more space, they replied "Isn't 333meg enough for you?". They have a point as I haven't used that up yet, but it bothers me that there is no upgrade path if I need it. I changes the way I look at future prospects. They do provide Python which I'm interested in, but haven't used yet. I didn't see that on your list. There may be other things I haven't determined yet. All told you are very comparable, but the MySQL 4 is an important factor. If ICDSoft won't upgrade soon, that may make me move, or I may host a single site just to try it out. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 My suggestion is get the $4 a month hosting to try it out, we have a 30 day money back guarantee, if you dont like it, cancel within 30 days and we give you your money back. Quote
