shadyDW Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 Can anyone here tell me what's the best way to delete the entire background of an image leaving just the image, and what software can I use for this process? Quote
Hockeypuck Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 Anything like Photoshop should do it. Use the "lasso" (am I saying that right?) tool to select what you want to keep and crop it. Or, you can select what you don't want and hit the delete key to get rid of it. Programs I know of: Photoshop Paint Shop Pro GIMP (If you use Linux...) Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 If you are using Photoshop or paintshop pro you can use a layer mask to paint out the background non-destructivly. This way you can easily undo a slip by reversing the mask color and paint it back on. Black will let the layer below show through, and white covers the layer below. If you use a soft brush, it will blend the edges with the layer below. Quote
natimage Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Photoshop 6 also has a background eraser tool that I found recently. Used it and loved it!!! I don't know if it is in earlier versions or not. Tracy Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 This is just a quick example of using a layer mask to non-destructivly erase a background. Quote
