Removing Custom Error Pages

Hello all,

 

I set up a custom error page (404.shtml) and all worked fine until I decided to remove it. Now whenever someone navigates to a nonexistent page I get a 404 error with a message saying that there was a problem with an ErrorDocument entry. How do I remove all references to custom error pages?

This is the error page I am receiving:

>Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /Videos/ on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am concerned about the line mentioning ErrorDocument. Is there any way to fix this?

I don't know if this helps very much, but I haven't yet added a custom error page to my site, and I get the exact same error page as you are mentioning--complete with the "...while trying to use an ErrorDocument..." statement.

 

It's kind of strange--other 404 pages don't have that message, that I have seen.

 

It looks as if the problem doesn't have anything to do with removing your custom error page. Not terribly helpful, but it's always nice to narrow down the possibilities, right?

I'm taking a huge leap here...u don't happen to have a .htaccess file on that directory. If so, that could be the reason its denying u accesss...
