Motherboard Question

There is a small heatsink next to the processor fan that I believe is the chipset north bridge(?).

It is held down by two spring loaded "pins" on diagonal corners.

One of them is missing and the pc will no longer boot.

I am wondering if that missing pin, which causes the little heat sink to by "away" from the chip it

sets on, has caused some sort of overheating disaster?

Thanks in advance Tch ers

Thanks, Bill. That's what I thought. But, I didn't try the resetting. I will try that and see if it can be saved.

thanks.
