30SoS Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 Hi, all. I've set up my mail accounts through cPanel, followed the instructions on the help site to get OE configured, and it still doesn't work -- says that password has been rejected (i've pasted the error below). I even tried the auto-configure file in cPanel and that gave me an error. I can get into the accoutn through webmail, so the account seems to be working -- I just can't get OE set up correctly. Please help! J There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'mail.30SoS.com', Server: 'mail.30SoS.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Sorry cannot find an owner for that domain (30SoS.com)', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 Quote
Head Guru Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 Are you using the full email address as the username in outlook? Quote
leezard Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 Also, if you are using mail.yourdmain.com for outgoing mail, most ISP's require you have "My server requires authentication" checked on the server tab of your account properties. Quote
30SoS Posted August 16, 2003 Author Posted August 16, 2003 Yep. Any other ideas? Also, I am using my ISP for the outgoing mail and have tried it with and without the authentication box checked. Still no luck... Quote
leezard Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 (edited) 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 are username and password errors. Delete your username and password from the account settings and reenter them, make sure you use username@****** as the isername, also they are case sensative. If that doesnt work your password may have gotten corrupt somehow,(not likely since you can access it via webmail) try changing the password in cpanel and try again. 30SoS Posted August 16, 2003 Author Posted August 16, 2003 Danke, leezard -- case sensitivity seemed to be the issue. Didn't figure it'd matter on a domain name, but apparently so. Much thanks! J Quote
leezard Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 Welcome, glad to hear you got it working. Quote
