jake.v Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 (edited) When I access my site using *ANY* FTP client, I can't see all the files in some directories. I have a forum with about 2000 members and if I look in Members directory, many members are not listed. I know I was able to see all members before, but this phenomenon started recently. If I do forum backup and download members list, I can see ALL members in backup.. Can anyone please shed some light on what's going on here? thanks Edited March 9, 2008 by jake.v Quote
Head Guru Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Most likely your ftp client is hiding files that it deems to be system files. For example, I run CyberDuck for Mac OS X. In the preference pane there is a tick button to "display hidden files". Check your FTP client for such a setting, I think this is the issue your facing. Bill Quote
jake.v Posted March 10, 2008 Author Posted March 10, 2008 Thanks for suggestion, however that's not the case. I use Filezilla and it has filters, and none are set. I also tried Smart FTP, Core FTP and all have the same "problem". Does this have something to do with permissions? How can I set permissions on a file if I don't see it? thanks Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 You cannot. Please open a ticket with the help desk and have one of the techs have a look. Quote
