Head Guru Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 We will install invision for free cause we love it. Other stuff is billed at $60/hour Quote
Lianna Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Bill, Can I ask why you like invision boards better than phpBB? What are the specific advantages that it has over phpBB? Curious. Lianna Quote
Head Guru Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 There are several reasons. I like the backend first of all. Much easier on the server. I love the admin interface it so simple. IMHO it a nicer board. Quote

I took a quick look at their site, does your using commercially mean I can use it (on my potential site hosted by you) for no cost to me? Otherwise, I need to examine more closely if I need to send them their $99. thx, John Quote
darkwoof Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 This can be found on Invision Power Services' site: Full License - $ 99.00 one time fee This license options allows you to download and use Invision Power Board with no restrictions. You are also granted the right to remove all the powered by and copyright messages the software outputs on your pages with this license. Restricted License - $ 0.00 (free) The restrictions placed on this license do not permit you to remove the copyright and powered by messages which the software outputs on your page. However, you can use Invision Power Board for free under this option. General usage of the board is free (which means you can install and use it for free). But if you don't like the "Powered by Invision Power Board", and "Copyright 2002, IPS, Inc." messages and want to remove them, you'd have to get the $99 license. Hopes this helps. Btw, the free Invision Board installation's a nice gesture, Head Guru! Quote
