karlfranz Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 If you have noticed my questions earlier, you may know my situation.I can't see the upgrades and can't see the lastest record of guestbook immediately, while others do not have problem when browsing my site.It is supposed the problem of my ISP. This morning I found the troubles are gone with the following domain names : http://server29.totalchoicehosting.com/~alexsky and http://64.246.62.111/~alexsky I can see the upgrades immediately with these domains but not with http://www.alexsky.com What is the problem?? SEO Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 It looks like your ISP. This happens to me all the time. It only gets changed afer I send an email requesting it: I have moved SomeSite.com, could you please have it updated in the YourISP DNS server. Thank you. Good luck. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Hi, What occurs is your ISP "caches" the domain so when you look at it, your not looking at the newest copy, only one that is several hours or days old. As Scott said, email your ISP! Jim Quote
karlfranz Posted July 24, 2003 Author Posted July 24, 2003 It is some problems from my ISP,but my problem is not caused my ISP "caches" the domain.I tested two times(upgraded by adding testing words),the first time I browsed my site with http://www.alexsky.com,failed.In second time I browsed my site with http://server29'sIP/~alexsky,this time OK. TCH-JimE Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Hi, That shows its a cache problem. Domain names are cached, as far as I know, direct IP ones are not hence the results you see. Email your ISP. Jim Quote
karlfranz Posted July 24, 2003 Author Posted July 24, 2003 Thank you,I will change my ISP next month. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Hi, If your on a dial up acccount, you may wish to test before moving Jim Quote
karlfranz Posted July 24, 2003 Author Posted July 24, 2003 I decided to move a few weeks ago, because the ISP service plan have a LCD as gift Quote
TCH-JimE Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Blimey, wish my ISP was like that. All i got free from them was a bill! Jim Quote
karlfranz Posted July 24, 2003 Author Posted July 24, 2003 The LCD is said to be free, but my monthly fee is high Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Karl, as Jim said, try the new ISP first, even the best IPS's may not work for every one. If you are on a dial up, the path to your ISP will be different then someone else, and may not be the best for you. My local phone company offered a great deal, but I could only connect at 12k. When I tried another listed in my phone book, although located accross the country, it was very fast and consistent. Most IPS's will let you try for a few days, or refund all money if you are not happy with in a few days. Quote
