imaginary number Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 hi there just created an account http://www.iforgottosay.com/~deanb in whm haven't got round to pointing the url at the name servers yet. went into the new account as root in cpanel and uploaded gallery2, then extracted it. once extracted i went to the directory and discovered that it just spews code at me so i decided to have a butchers at fantastico. "Fantastico is unable to connect to your MySQL server at this time. Please contact your host for assistance." Are the two related or are there certain things that you can't doo as root. LISH-Josh Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 Warning: Unknown(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/deanb/public_html/gallery2/index.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/batbkpfm/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in Unknown on line 0 open_basedir (a module to protect from some php vulnerabilities) is refusing the script to execute. You'll notice that "/home/deanb/public_html/gallery2/index.php" is a completely different path than where the script is executing from "/home/batbkpfm/". open_basedir prevents exactly that (users executing files outside of their home folder). Did you install into an add-on domain? You might need to have TCH remove open_basedir protection for the domain with gallery2 installed as open_basedir cannot be turned off via an htaccess file.
