Guest testalot Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 It would be helpful if there were links to a collection of small files (e.g. a HTML pages with an absurd amount of frames (say, 8 or 10) and a lot of small button-sized GIFs) and big files (e.g. a 3 MB download) on the servers used to host customers sites, so I can benchmark the speed of connections from a couple of networks important to my visitors. Things like HTTP 1.1 pipelining, latencies, traceroutes, TCP/IP slowstart implementation, (transit) network topology etc. all factor in. Do you provide test-downloads/test-pages for benchmarking? The alternative, finding out some people who host with ***** and then hitting their sites with traffic just to test out their provider without having an interest in their content is a bit rude.... Larry Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 I doubt this is everything you wanted, but here is a link to a 1.7 meg file they have on thier server. http://www.*****/test.zip Quote
Head Guru Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 Thanks Larry!!! Here is a 13MB file to test speed. This file is on server6 http://*****/test2.zip All of our servers are on the best bandwidth money can buy. Ask around you will never here a speed complaint here at SNH. And yes our main site sits on a server with other clients. Take care and thanks again Larry! Quote
