I am taking a trip and I would like to be able to quickly upload photos to my website so family and friends could view them (in some organized manner.

I realize I could ftp the photos to a directory on my website but I was wondering if there might be some script that might be more end-user friendly (it would be nice if the photos would display as thumbnails).

Thanks.

I've been using Picasa on my desktop and a plugin called SimpleViewer.

You simply tag the images you want to upload in Picasa and save as HTML and it creates the thumbnails and reduces the images (if you prefer) and then all you do is upload the entire folder structure to your web site. You can even embed the viewer in other web pages.

I'll have to check into this too.

Coincidentally, Picasa came with the USB drive I just purchased.

I should have mentioned that I will be using public computers to do the uploading of the photos. Do you know if Picasa can be operated from a thumb drive?

I was confusing Picasa's "Web Album" feature with what you are doing.

How do you 'tag' images?

Wowzers! I was just searching around for a simple gallery style listing for my photos. Most of the programs I found were too complex for what I wanted. This is working great so far. :)

Funny thing is that I have been using the original Picasa for quite some time. Ahh, the benefits of updating your software :thumbup1:

Does anyone know if it possible to open Picasa2 without it importing all the images on your PC?

I only want it to import images from a specific folder.

3. you have the option to:

A. Scan once

B. Remove from picasa

C. Scan always

click the folder that you want picasa to scan and click the scan always, an eye will show up next to the folder, then below that will show the watched folders.

Hope this helps

when the scan begins it will slide out from the right, click the small x and that will cancel it, there is no real way to stop it once it start to scan except tho stop each picture from being added.

Thank you for the great graphic instructions!

By the way, I had been clicking that "X" in the slide-out but it just kept re-appearing and continuing the scan.
