skguyer Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 (edited) I get the same error as this lady above here does but Im using localhost already and creating a database , then a user, then applying the user to the data base and getting : Connection to mySQL established?:. * Fail * Unable to connect to mySQL server 'localhost' using username 'wahmmall_mall ' and password '******' - please return to previous page and verify you have entered the correct details. Then, sometimes using the same info, it works so I'm confused. Right now I'm madd from frustration because I need this database back up. TCH-Rick Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Give us a domain name or url so we can look at it and see if we can help you figure it out. Make sure you have the user added to the database in Manage MySQL. (I editted out your password. Best not to give some information out. ) Quote
leezard Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 I looked at the e107 portal, it's pretty much exactly the same as the phpnuke portal that TCH provides in your control panel, unless theres a reason you like the e107 portal, giving phpnuke a try might be an option. Quote
skguyer Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 Thanks, but I would have changed it once it went live. I went to view the movie on creating a sql database and the only thing I did'nt do exactly the same was maybe my password was not at least 8 digits and my passwords may have been too close to the user name. I went in and fixed those steps and still got the error. The funny thing is last nite it was hit and miss. Sometimes it acknoledged the database and sometimes it did'nt. I have a resellers account and a few of my Wahms are newbies and this portal gives them everything with no html knowledge so thats why so many installs. It is me though I'm sure. Something Im doing differently because the automatic php chat uploads itself just fine. website : http://www.wahmmall.com , it resides on my reseller site at www.wahmtips.com , there is nothing of any importance on wahm mall right now. I could reset the site and not lose a thing. the portal is at www.wahmmall.com/portal The user was added to the database. Thanks Kat Quote
skguyer Posted July 9, 2003 Author Posted July 9, 2003 Hi, If I have php nuke, point it out to me because its not installed on my server unless I'm just missing it. The only thing I see on add on scripts is the message boards. Kat Quote
TCH-Rick Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 I just added PhpNuke to your server. It is now listed under Add-On Scripts in the CGI Scripts section. Quote
