LastCallGames Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I'm trying to blur images on my site at different angles, but I'm not really sure where to begin with that. What I want is the angles of the blur to go in different directions, maybe even random if I can set that. Any suggestions? The site is http://www.lastcallgames.com/journey/home.html - You can see the effect by rolling over any of the bottom links (doesn't working in Firefox) Quote
TCH-Andy Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 It depends which graphics package you are using. I like GIMP (partially because I'm a firm believer in Open Source software, but it's really a great package anyway), so I'd suggest a motion blur or tileable blur. If you want the streaks more (as you have them now, rather than just a blur) I would use add "wind" noise, which you can do from several different directions. I just checked in a couple of other packages, and the "wind" noise seems the most common one amongst different packages, although you may need to apply it several times with the wind from different directions. carbonize Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Have a look at paint.net available from getpaint.net. It's a free program and has some nice effect plugins such as motion blur and zoom blur. Quote
