When I first set up my coppermine account I had to go into the groups in the admin section. the users were allowed to upload pictures but the admin showed that it was limited to 0 as far as file size. Id look into that and see if that has something to do with it. you can change it to anything you want

as a registered user, they are able to upload 1024, but they are only able to create albums in the personal gallery. How come they cant post into any other categories, that were created?

Wampthing is right, you have to set up access to certain groups to upload pictures, but you got to remember, 50 users, uploading 1meg files, is 50 megs, a lot of space used there, I would recomend 1028k or maybe double that..

I run CM, so you need any help I can try...been running it for 2 years

I guess, my problem is how to get to set up access to the different categories. I could set those up, and the albums, but after that...... I just cant seem to get it to work

Not sure if this is what you ask but...

As far as I know you can only set it up so anyone who have registered can post pics in the galleries you create and their own user galleries or deny them one or both of the above.

And no bumping of topics please. :)

My fault, didnt think getting more answers was a bump to the top...but anyways...

I even registering myself as a user, under a different account, but when I tried to upload pictures into a specific category, it didnt give me an option on where to load them, it just went straight to a personal gallery. I guess I am trying to figure out how to make them be able to post them wherever they want to...

Just to make sure... :)

In Option "Groups" I assume you are allowing registered users to publish to the albums you have made in advance and have set the approval option to either yes or no?

Permissions:

Rating Yes

Ecards Yes

Comments Yes

Public albums upload:

Allowed Yes

Approval No

Personal gallery:

Allowed Yes

Approval No

This is how mine is set up for the registered users..

It looks as it should work. :)

If you want, you can try to see if anyone else have this problem and an eventual solution at the Official Coppermine Forum.

Edit: Have you checked the permissions so they are according to our Coppermine Tutorial?

NO dice there either, Im sure its a simple problem...

I guess, exactly what im looking for is how to associate a specific group with an album. For some reason it wont give me that option that is in the groups page...

You need to set permissions for the Albums as well, this caught me out. I can't get into my gallery at present as the server is migrating.

Look at the albums after you have set them up there are move options once you have done that, but you need to be in the admin mode to get to them. It isn't in the general configuration where you can change all setting to gallery it has specifically to do with the Albums. Keep in mind this is from pure memory cells at present. Once the server is back on line later today I will look and make not of the selections you have to do to get to where you are needing to get to.

When you are in Admin Mode and you have the Albums listed there are three selectable tabs for each of the albums, Delete, Properties, Edit Files, if you select Properties you can set the access properties for the Album there. You can even set a password for the album in there as well. Make sure you Click on Album List when you are loged in as Administrator otherwise you won't see what I mean. If you are still unsure let me know I will do a couple of screen captures and let me know what skin you are using will make it a bit easier as well.

Just looked at his site and he is using Gallery not Coppermine. So any help is mute isn't it. Since we have all been talking about Coppermine.

Looks like its changed again. It now says "Powered by 4images".

To rbb213,

Which photogallery script is it you need help with?

Sorry, but I think we are getting a little confused about what you are using.

Looks like he switched gallery programs, at least for the one he specifically mentioned.
