Guest jo Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 very new here, this will be my first web site.I purchased CUTE site builder and now I am looking for a host. I will have a lot of pictures on my site. Yes,they are my pictures. What plan would you recomend for my site? Thank You Quote
TCH-Tim Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I would start with the basic starter hosting package. $4/month and plenty of space. You can always upgrade if you need more. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Tough to say. Will you have more than 400MB of pictures to start with? If it is under that then the starter plan should be ok. If it is close you might want to consider the next plan to give some breathing room. Of course it also depends on how popular your site is as well. High traffic might put you into a larger plan right away. I would first see how much room your site needs, pick a plan that it will fin into and then upgrade as necessary. Quote
stevevan Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I'd suggest either one. You can always quickly upgrade. Quote
TCH-JimE Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Hello, I would suggest either, as mentioned above upgrading can be done in touch of a button. I would make sure that you keep your pictures to managable size and if using alot, use some sort of gallery software like gallery 2, coppermine or any of the other amazing scripts out there Jimuni Quote
TCH-Don Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Welcome to the forum Jo If you re-size the images to a reasonable size and save them with compression, you can get a lot of images on your site. I have over 1400 images of 300x225 saved with compression to less than 12k each and yet my site takes less than 250 meg. With CSB you should break your site in to sub folders with a .tlx file for each folder if you have a lot of images to make it easier to handle. We have a CSB forum also where you can get help. Quote
