phatfunkjazz Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I have a couple web sites hosted here at TCH. Recently, I had to cancel one of the accounts (the band is breaking up) and requested that my account be deleted at the end of the service. So I pre-paid one more month to allow the band to inform its fanbase (okay, maybe 15 or 20, but still fans) of its demise before the web site goes down. An honest mistake by TCH, all our data was deleted too soon; I couldn't access any of our files. I contacted the Help Desk to express my disappointment. They immediately checked out the situation, apologized, then I was contacted several times (all within a 24-hour period), finally (and quickly), Tech Support managed to recover all my data, allowing me to complete my mission. I want to THANK TCH for the excellent response. I felt that the Tech Support team reflected the values that TCH advertises. One more thing, I learned a valuable lesson, that is: BACKUP all my important data myself. I hadn't been doing that prior to this adventure...just kind of expected that everything is safe and secure. But if I had been taking more responsibility for my personal data, this experience wouldn't have been so dramatic. peace, Stefan Quote
Head Guru Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I am just glad that we were able to help out, even if it looked bad to start with. Bill Quote
