cajunman4life Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 For those of you that celebrate Christmas, I was just wondering if everyone has got their shopping done yet. Also, what are you planning on getting? For my fiancee, I'm getting her a new laptop. For my mom, she's getting a new desktop. And myself, well of course I'm getting an Xbox 360. Everyone else is getting gift cards (I hate shopping). So what is everyone else getting? Quote
curtis Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I was just wondering if everyone has got their shopping done yet I haven't started. I'm one of those people that waits until the last second. If I just happen to see something that I think someone would like I will get it but its tooo early for me to start *shopping*. Quote

That way you don't have to worry about the wrong size, wrong color, whether the person will like it, etc. The gift card allows them to get something that they need. (Plus it's easier than fighting with people at the stores!) Quote

cajunman4life Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 For those getting gift cards, what kind of gift card do you get? A store-specific one, or a non-specific one (ie Visa or American Express gift card). I usually give the American Express gift card, unless I know someone wants something from a specific store. Bruce: Sorry, don't have your address. How do you expect me to get it to you? lol Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I have three paople out of twenty left to buy for. I need a few more things for the kids though. Quote
curtis Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Giving gift cards seems so impersonal to me. I know it is an accepted form of giving but seems to take away from the spirit of gift giving. Part of the Christmas Season, for me, is making that list, going to the mall and finding that special something for someone. Quote

perfectdreams Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 We just started shopping for the kids. We've got a bit on layaway for them, and still need to add a few for the little guy (he's 9 months and she's 2 1/2). Josh (boyfriend) and I are just gonna wait until after tax return, which is when I'll get my most desired playtoy: my own personal PC and cable internet (we're currently on dial-up, and I'm so thankful TCH has nice decent servers. My site loads faster than most of the others, ). My parents and family will also get theirs after taxes, because that's when they're coming over, during my sister's spring break (they're in Indiana, I'm in Kansas). Quote
Deverill Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I got myself a refinance on my house so I can get rid of the credit cards - a most excellent gift I must say!!! Everyone else is on their own! Quote
stevevan Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I got myself a refinance on my house so I can get rid of the credit cards - a most excellent gift I must say!!! Precisely what I used to get the wife her Anniversary (Nov 18), birthday (Nov 28), and Christmast (Dec 25) presents...jewelry and a new Ford Escape! Plus a little left over to buy me a few things too, of course! Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I am waiting for the banks to allow me to refinance my life. Quote
