Varying Container On Web Page

My site has a container, but sometimes it shifts over the content when going between web pages. Why does this happen and how can I fix it?

For example, from ahead of the ticker to analyst scorecard...the content moves

I see what you mean in I.E but not firefox.

 

It looks like the left margin is wider on some of the pages than others.

How can I fix the style sheet so this will not happen? I played around with some of the left and right tabs in the css, but it doesnt fix that problem

I'm not seeing this behavior at all.

The only content shifting I see is related to the scroll bar. On you home page the content is long enough that there's a scroll bar to the right. But the next page does not have enough text to merit the scroll bar, so the scroll bar disappears and the text shifts slightly so the content stays centered in the window. Is this the shifting you mean?

 

I am not 100% certain how to fix it, but I think you can force the scroll bar to appear regardless -- something about changing the CSS overflow property on the body tag.

I use IE 6.

 

I see what you mean about the shifting. There are perhaps 2 or 3 pages that are fine (I should have taken more notice) and then there are pages that shift to the left. Then when I click on the next link after the first page that has shifted - the page will shift to the right (where the Home Page position was) and then immediately shift again to the left. The shift is quite noticeable. My screen resolution is 1024 by 768.

 

Sorry I have no solutions but thought I would add my observations.

Thanks for the confirmation. I checked the HTML and there seemed to be no obvious errors. Hopefully someone has an idea as to what is wrong.
