phonetease Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 If a tech is reading this, Could you please point my secure server to the same directory where my web pages are located? Please let me know what information you need to do this and what email address should I write to with this information? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Quote
TCH-JimE Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Hi, If you want to use the shared cert, then just parse your pages as: Http://serverX.totalchoicehosting.com/~username/ Where X = server number username = your user name Vistors will be warned that the certificate is not correct as the URL will not match. Its still safe though Jim Quote
phonetease Posted May 25, 2003 Author Posted May 25, 2003 Hi Jimuni, I don't understand. How do I parse my pages? And what is the server number? I am still a newbie on this. The reason I need this done is so that I can sign up for a sponsor online where I can sell thier products. They said to contact the system administrator and ask to have it done. Does this mean the administrator will have to do it from the main computers or servers? Please explain how to do what you said or just send me the email to write. Thank you for responding, PT Quote
Head Guru Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 Ok Your server number is the server your site resides on. So lets use this example. Your on Server23 Your username is happy You want to parse order.html secure Here is the url "https://server23.totalchoicehosting.com/~happy/order.html" oh, be sure to not include the " Also this is a link to determine what server your on. You will see in your welcome email a IP address listed. This link will help you turn your IP into a server name. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/ Click on the List of TCH servers & IP address link. This page gives a good deal of information on SSL http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/sslpage.htm Quote
