GroovyFish Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I have to share this story that happened to me tonight. I was reading a blog that I go to frequently, and there was a story about another blogger who's mother in law was missing due to the hurricane. She's in a nursing home in New Orleans and was fine after the hurricane, but the nursing home had to be evacuated and they didn't know where to and were extremely worried. They had contacted multiple people, state agencies, etc and no one new where this nursing home had been evacuated to. After leaving the blog, I went to another blog that happened to have a link to nola.com, which has forums people have been using to gather information on missing people, state of the areas they used to live in, etc. I was curious, so I went there. I stumbled across information on the same nursing home where the woman above was at, and where they had been evacuated to. I, of course, immediately posted the information on their blog, and...since they posted their phone number, I called them. About an hour later, I got a call back from Vicky, thanking me (ALOT) because she found her mom based on that information I found. You can read the original post here: http://overtaken.blogmosis.com/archives/029211.html Their update is at the top, original post below..and mine is the 4th comment. You know, my husband and I have already made a donation to Red Cross, but I been feeling like I need to do more. Little did I know that I would be able to help someone while sitting on my couch...in my pajamas. The internet is an amazing thing... Quote
