BryanMc1138 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I've set up my main account and an additional secondary POP account on the site, and tried to send mail to them. However, I haven't revieved the mail. It's been over 12hrs, and it's not showing up. My domain name hasn't gone live yet (still using the IP for the server w/ username). Any ideas as to why this isn't working? Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 welcome to the forum Bryan I am not sure, but without the domain name being active I don't think you can receive e-mail yet. If you send to your-tchdomain and it is not active the e-mail has no where to go. how did you addres the e-mail? Quote
BryanMc1138 Posted August 19, 2005 Author Posted August 19, 2005 my domain name is www.bloorosewow.com (my World of Warcraft guild site, should anyone be interested ), and the mail was sent to rhanna@bloodrosewow.com. I've sent email from the account just fine, but I cannot recieve it. Thanks for a quick response, though. welcome to the forum Bryan I am not sure, but without the domain name being active I don't think you can receive e-mail yet. TCH-Don Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Both domains you list bloorosewow.com bloodrosewow.com are not active, so any e-mail sent to them has no where to go. you will need to wait for the domains to propagate, up to 72 hours from the time your DNS was changed to the TCH DNS. Which for bloodrosewow.com should happen by tomorrow. If not open a Help Desk ticket to the techs. You can log into your cpanel with the IP address in your welcome e-mail and go to web mail and send to other active domains just fine. Looks like you may need to wait until your domain shows up. stevevan Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Welcome to the forums! As Don said, you just have to be patient. Domain propagation can be as fast as a few hours or as much as 72. If you are still having problems after the 72 hours, then drop a note to the Help Desk and they'll track down the problem. Quote
BryanMc1138 Posted August 19, 2005 Author Posted August 19, 2005 Wow, you guys sure are a welcoming bunch. Glad to be aboard. But, yeah, I figured it was just the domain name issue. It just didn't make sense on how I could send but not recieve email. Thanks for the assistance. Welcome to the forum, Bryan. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 You can send because you have an account on that server. You cannot receive because it has no route to you since your domain name has not propagated. Quote
bellringr Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Welcome! What server do you play on? Hubby and I are on Cenarius. Quote
