jdmatl Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 I haven't read of any huge security holes in SSH lately, unlike Microsoft passport. Why the shutdown on ssh access at TCH to new clients? I am sure this will end up causing you guys to lose some possible new clients. just wondering Quote
KevinW Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Just my personal opinion --- I can do just about everything I need to do on my web site (sucha s installing packages, etc.) without the need for SSH. For the few times that I would like to perform some "commond line" prompts, I have a PHP script that mimics an SSH environment for me, and it works very nicely - while working within any security and permissions enabled by TCH. -kw Quote
TCH-Rick Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Please see this thread for an update on the policy that we hope is a compromise we all can live with. Quote
KevinW Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Oh, BTW, it appears that TCH has heard your request ... check out the following change in policy regarding SSH -- clcik here. -kw Quote
KevinW Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Change in policy has been duly noted in the SSH page at the TCH Help web site -- click here to view. -kw Quote
