Hello, I am about to maybe, could be, most likely, move into a reseller account.

I have a few basic accounts and want to be sure that

1. When they transfer over to a reseller account that they will be intact with all data bases and cgi settings etc... Has anyone done this?

2. I wanted to learn more about the reseller accounts. However, the only sections of this forum on resellers have to have special passwords.

Any good FAQs on the reseller accounts other than the main page at: ?

http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/web-hosting-resellers.html

Thank you all.

Hi,

We have done a number of transfers. So the process is tried and true.

As far as information goes, the link you have says most of it. The reseller accounts allow you to make multiple accounts like you already have. So the transition will be pretty painless.

The major difference is access to the WHM (WebHost Manager) that allows you to manage your accounts.

If you have any specific questions, please let us know! :)

If you haven't already looked

there a number of WHM videos on the help site

Only one of the resellers forums in password protected.

There is a lot of info in the first one, reseller support.

When you get setup and ask for your accounts to be moved into your reseller account, they will have the same space and bandwidth as they do now.

You will need to create your own packages for them with the space and bandwidth you want for them.

If you need more please ask. It may seem a little strange at first but once you poke around WHM it will be easy.

Thank you Bill and Don.

I believe I will go with it. I have 11 sites/clients I work with scattered across the Internet. Sounds like the reseller is the answer.

Also, You are correct about the reseller forum. For some reason the first time I clicked I thought they both asked for a password.

Thanks for the great and fast assistance.

When First signing up for the reseller it asks for a domain.

Do I use a unique one for the overall reseller account, or can I use one of mine that totalchoicehosting already hosts.

Thanks.

I would open a ticket and let them start the process for you.

You can use an existing domain and ask the techs to use it as your reseller domain and have them copy the account over as your reseller account.

I used a new domain for my reseller account

and had them move my old domain into my reseller account, and then reduced the space and bandwidth for it.
