Ninepatch Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 This evening, I logged into my CPanel to do some housekeeping before publishing my newly redesigned personal website. In the process of trying to copy a folder's contents into a new folder, I somehow managed to delete my html_public folder entirely - yeah, I know, takes brains. Thank goodness the data did copy. My service ticket was responded to immediatley by the Help Desk Manager, Robert. Very shortly thereafter the problem was resolved by the Tech Support Manager, Rick, who even moved my files back into my newly recreated html_public folder. I'm a really small fish in the TCH-Family, but the Support Staff here treats everyone like the most important account of the day. That's service! Thank you for your quick response and solution to my problem. It just doesn't get any better than TCH when it comes to support. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Beth, glad they were able to help you out. Quote

TCH-Don Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Beth if you haven't already you may want to use cpanel > backup download a home backup which you can always upload yourself. I like to do this before any major changes just in case The Home backup contains all but your databases and e-mail filters and forwards, which you can also downlod. Quote

I was trying to copy all the files for the current iteration of my personal site into another folder under my html_public folder using the "Copy folder..." command in File Manager. The source folder was also under html_public. I'm still not certain I understand how to do that correctly, but I will proceed with caution! I find CPanel's documentaiton lacking, but it's not a TCH product - if it were, the instructions would be much clearer, I'm sure! Thanks for the suggestion to do a back-up download, I will do that just to make double sure I don't trip over my own feet again. Quote
