I'm Interested-- Comments & Questions

I have been researching web hosts for about a week now, and I like your company's style. The web forums are a good idea-- lacking some privacy perhaps but cost effective for Help I am sure, as well as good community building.

My questions:

1. Why did you change your name -- I guess it was a year ago or so.

2. How can you offer plans with such large storage and bandwidth allowances so inexpensively? I could pay a lot more for a lot less elsewhere.

3. How do I determine how much space I will need? All of my little sites sitting on my harddrive only come to 4 MB and you offer 300 MB?

Thanks--

Hi,

1) I have to admit I don't know as I am a newbie technical guru but i was with there before hand with no problems

2) Because we don't overcharge our customers for what they need, which in turn brings us more customers, so its like a catch 22 situation! We all win :-) Other suppliers may bloat you with bits on your web package you never use. If you don't use them, why pay for them!

3) Well if you only have 3mbs and we offer 300, you will have lots of free space left over for your creativity! If you start having a few email accounts, a bulletin board etc, you will start to use it up. Space is good :-)

Also we do offer privacy. We offer a ticket support system that only the gurus have access too.

Any more questions I can answer for you?

I hope you will soon be joining the family here

The name change came about in large part because TCH wanted to have a name indicative of its essence. Formerly ***** Hosting, the company is focused around providing choices for its clients, but rest assured that the idea of "Simple" is still in the veins! :D

I just signed up this morning. I noticed that when I got the "Thank You for Registering" page it said "***** Hosting" at the top of the screen.

I was always so surprised at how *expensive* many other hosts were when it comes to space. I had been paying $7/mo for 100 MB. When I asked what an add'l 100 MB would cost it was another $9/mo. Go figure.

Anyway, there are other hosting companies out there that provide similar plans, so if you're worried that perhaps this plan is way out in left field and the company is about to go under, don't. It is comparable to a number of other hosts. *Maybe* they're as good -- I don't know, but it seems unlikely. I can say with certainty that this place is orders of magnitude better (support-wise) than my previous host.

These forums provide a great opportunity for user-user support, though the guru's contribute a surprising amount. And for "real" (guaranteed) support, there is a more traditional help desk.
