Jaz Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Hey guys! I'm considering moving with TCH, however I do have a lot of transfers to do between home and work and I usually use my host to do that and download speeds are important when I don't have much time to edit a project before I hand it in. I would like to know what kind of download speeds you usually get with TCH (FTP) and how long you've been with them. Thanks! -mik butane.ca pulsebox.com Quote
TCH-BillH Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Hi Jaz. Welcome to the forums. My experience has been that what ever the maximum broad-band speed you have is what you can download via FTP. I have personally experienced 400kbs, which tapped out my connection. Others have maxed out their connection at 600kbs. It's as fast as I can take data down from all that I have experienced. Hope this helps! Quote

Hope this helps! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It does thanks, I jsut subscribed with a host which main site was down for a couple hours just after subscription, which went bad because billing system had problems, then their control panel had problems, and just a few days later do they finally register my domain name, and then 1 more day to set-up the domain name with the account... so 4 days later I finally get a mail saying everything should be fine! Yay! Now I'm doing transfers at around 50 kbps They don't like business I guess Finding a good host is such a pain... I just want to make sure I wont have 4 support tickets with my next host 10 minutes after I subscribe hahaha Quote

TCH-Don Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 cpanel and web mail is horde, squirrel mail (domain/sqmail) and NeoMail if your current host has cpanel the techs may be able to transfer it for you that includes e-mail and files and databases, or everything. Quote
stevevan Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Welcome to the forums Jaz. I think you'll find exactly what you're looking for with TCH. I've been involved with ISP's and web hosting for about 8-9 years now and TCH is the best I have ever seen. Sure there's downtime (what ISP doesn't have any downtime?), but it is very minimal and the tech's AND owner are usually all over it in a matter of minutes. (The preceding was a customer endorsement! ) Quote
