Just a note.

The January 2005 Laptop Buyers guide has some awesome reviews.

Bill

FWIW, I've got a Sony Vaio (frv37), had it for just about a year now and it's been 100% reliable, other than being a tad picky on what brand of DVD's it will write to.

I'm looking to buy another identical one for the wife now.

If you can find a Sony Vaio K35 (note: no longer in production) it was the replacement for frv37.

The wife has one and it's a great performer. 15.4-inch widescreen too.

Yah, the 37's are on ebay regularlly, often new or in new condition. I want it specifically because I already have one, making backups and restores will be easier, since I can (or should) be able to use the same ghost image.
