jrd Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 I'm looking for a service or software product that will let me send out html newsletters automatically generated from a live web page, to a list of about 5,000 subscribers...as well as enable people to sign up on their own. Anyone know of any systems (preferablly cheap or free)? Thanks Quote
snipe Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Hi jrd - gosh, you know this is a quest I have been on for ages as well. The ONLY program I have found that isn't awful (assuming you want a web-based dealio, with web-based signup, etc) is Subscribe Me. They have several different versions, one free and at least two commercial. I have the enterprise version for my non-profit organization - and while I wouldn't say its worth what I paid for it, I do think its the best I have managed to find. For some reason, most free (or reasonably) priced systems like this are always pretty awful - you don't start getting really good functionality until you start dealiing with the big (expensive) boys. Anyways, Subscribe Me is a CGI script - you can find it here, if you'd like to check it out: http://www.siteinteractive.com/subscribe/ Quote

If so, a simply email list and a script to paste the html page to it sounds like it would do what you want (assuming everyone on the list can accept html messages). A list would also allow people to subscribe/unsubscribe on their own. Or was there something more? Quote
