ace Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 HI, I just picked up a d-link 514 wireless router. The WLAN light is always flashing. Just powering it up makes it flash. (nothing else attached) The manual states that the LED will be solid when the wireless segment is ready and flashes during wireless data transmission. It is always flashing...Is it supposed to do this? Your help is appreciated. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I have a netgear and it always flashes. My nieghbors does the same thing. We tested them and they are close enough to pick up each other. Could be you are getting stray signals. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 My D-Link flashes all the time too. Quote
ace Posted February 23, 2005 Author Posted February 23, 2005 Was the WLAN link light blinking when you first plugged it in?.....mine is. I have no wireless devices powered up and nothing plugged into the wan ports. The neighbors have wireless as well. Quote
woesap Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 Could it be it's sending out signals all the time to see if remote connection is established? Just wondering. I think my router is on continously or at least flickering all the time. Quote
