Mustangv8 Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Hi all I am planing to move my website to totalchoicehosting because my actual host is down since about 24h. This is the second time it happens in 2 weeks. The last time it took over 48h to have my website running again. I was just wondering what could cause a server to be down for so long. I can understand if this happens for a few minutes but how can it last that long? Seeing all the messages in this forum, it seems I have found the right host. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Not to belittle your current host but it sounds like they don't know what they are doing or were not prepared for a problem like a hard drive failing and no backup to replace it with. Or some other piece of hardware and no spare parts. I used to be with a host like that and since I was using them to host a company site I had to move. TCH-Dick Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 There are a lot of problems that can take hours to repair/replace (48 hours is a VERY long time though) I cant say we have never had extended downtime, but we always try and communicate with our customers and let them know whats going on. Downtime is one thing, not letting your customers know why, and what you are doing to prevent it is another. Quote

Even my host's website is down and had error messages on all thier pages since a mounth so maybe they are trying to close their business. I just hope they will be back online soon so I can move my website to totalchoice hosting. Quote

As of last month he has been offering his company for sale. I will send you a PM to let you see what I have found. If you would like you can open an account with us and give it a try.
