ThatAdamGuy Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Hi there, I recently migrated -- in quite an urgent fashion -- from BlogHosts. My transition to TCH was rather bumpy, but I'm optimistic that I've made a good choice and I'm quite pleased with the performance of the server I'm using as a reseller. Let me get the bad stuff out of the way: 1) When the cpanel contents were copied from my old server to my account on TCH, the rep forgot to delete the file on the old server. This placed me severely over quota there, and resulted in my mail bouncing ("disk full") for nearly half a day until I realized what was going on. 2) Most of my accounts were not correctly set up on my TCH server, and -- though I was admittedly a bit impatient due to losing e-mail -- it took several queries and some persistence on my part to get this taken care of. Mail sent to me during this time went into a blackhole And now for the good: 1) My IM conversations with support folks (pre-sale and afterwards) were generally effective and enjoyable. 2) I did get pretty prompt responses to my support tickets even on the weekend. 3) As a Bloghosts refugee, I'm getting a stellar value for my money. I'll plan on checking back here in a few months and reporting on how things are going at that time. Quote
Head Guru Posted November 15, 2004 Posted November 15, 2004 Adam, I would like to first Thank You for your business. Secondly, I would like to welcome you to your new on-line family and thirdly thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to post a review on our services. Let me take a moment to personally respond to your review. Your first point is confusing to me. You state: 1) When the cpanel contents were copied from my old server to my account on TCH, the rep forgot to delete the file on the old server. This placed me severely over quota there, and resulted in my mail bouncing ("disk full") for nearly half a day until I realized what was going on.Please remember we do not have control over their server. cPanel has a built in copy feature that tar's the contents of your home directory and then our server copies it. We do not have root access to your account on the other companies server. Perhaps my tech should have mentioned this to you, as we should have known the leftover tar file could have placed you over quota. I will go over this with the support crew and tighten up on this. Your second point. You state: 2) Most of my accounts were not correctly set up on my TCH server, and -- though I was admittedly a bit impatient due to losing e-mail -- it took several queries and some persistence on my part to get this taken care of. Mail sent to me during this time went into a blackhole That is really disappointing the accounts did not copy over correctly. I am not sure how many domains are in your reseller account, and the number would be no excuse at all, however once again cPanel account move feature leaves alot to be desired. You should never have to be persistant to get the support you are paying for, and lost email is not good by any means. I will go over this with the tech support crew and fill in any cracks that may be open. As with any server move, there are bound to be issues. Sometimes they are small issues and sometimes things can go very wrong. I am just glad that we were there to fix the problems for you. In responding to your other "good" points, I am happy to see everything else is going well. Please do check back with us whenever you need help or just to say hello. Also, I am personally available to all my clients 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Please only use the contact information once you have tried all other means. However, my personal blackberry pager email address is. billkish{@}nextel.blackberry.net, simply remove the {} and send me a email. I have placed the {} in my email address here to prevent spam bots from grabbing the address. Thanks again. Bill Quote
