ace Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Hello TCH fam, Have any of you experienced the following too: A site resolves after a change is made to the DNS entries. Few hours later it resolves to the old settings. I made a change to one of my domain and for the last day is keeps resolving to the new entry and then back to the old. Wierd. Thanks Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Quite possible to happen since not all DNS servers update instantly and you don't always connect to the same DNS server from your provider. Could take from 24 to 72 hours for it to settle down. Moving for organization. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Bruce is right, you may bounce around for those 72 hours. Your ISP may also have more than one caching server as well so you may hit one that hasnt made its update yet. Quote
MikeJ Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 you may bounce around for those 72 hours. Make sure you wear the appropriate protective gear. I recommend a helmet along with elbow and knee pads. Quote
