jme574 Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 this is not really presells since my account is already hosted with tch, but i am wanting or thinking about upgrading. i have two accounts, one of them is a starter account that i am thinking of upgrading to the Deluxe Plan. I only have 90 days left with my current year but not wanting to wait that long. How can i upgrade what i currently have not to what i want? Do i just pay the difference for the 90 days between what i pay now and what the cost of the new plan is? Last question. I have 2 sites now and i am thinking of adding two totally different site to make a total of 4 diffent sites. Should i just get a resellers account and break the 4 different sites up how i want them when i need them? I am unfamiliar with exactly what a resellers account is and how it works. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 1. Pretty much. Open a ticket to billing and they will inform you of the process. 2. I would go the resellers route. It just makes it easier to manage that many accounts. It allows you to alloacte based on the needs of the individual account. I have one and dont resell anything. Quote
jme574 Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 Is it hard to manage a resellers acount, and allocate the space and stuff? - i get around ok on the cpanels a have for the two accounts now but those are only for one account each. Do you have a demo resellers cpanel like the test drive you have for the regular cpanel? Quote
Deverill Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I don't know of a demo for the "Web Hosting Manager" which is the reseller's "master cpanel" but it's not hard at all. To allocate space all you have to do is set up a package telling it how much bandwidth and disk space the package can use, create the account for the domain, assing the domain to one of the packages you established and you're on your way. Of course you have to get the domain name and point it here to TCH but that's true either way. The reseller route is definitely much easier to manage IMO. I am like Rob in that I have about 7 domains and don't resell anything other than a small fee to the places I have designed the websites for hosting, but that's not a pure reseller type thing. Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 You can always view the movies on the help site WHM movies to get an idea how to use WHM The main thing is to create packages first, they determine the space and bandwidth and features. Then when you add a new account you can select one of your packages to go with it. you can modify your accounts later to give them more or less space and bandwidth. If you upgrade one of your accounts to a reseller, it will have its own cpanel, but not appear in your WHM accounts. And if you have the techs move your other account over into your WHM, you will need to modify its package to one of your own (upgrade/downgrade account). DO NOT create an account for your other domain, let the techs move it. if you have any questins, just ask Quote
jme574 Posted November 11, 2004 Author Posted November 11, 2004 Does tch offer packages (that are not listed) that are more than 3000mb of disc space? or can you connect several of the large resellers account together? Quote
LisaJill Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Your best bet if you need that much space would be to submit a ticket to the Help Desk directed at sales. I think that what you would need is a dedicated server witih additional space added. But you should talk to them about that privately; as I don't believe there are any dedicated servers available at the moment. Quote
jme574 Posted November 11, 2004 Author Posted November 11, 2004 ok - i was just checking because i seen another place that offered 3x the amount of space but i feel comfortable with tch and know that if i had any questions/problems i could come here and get help right away. Quote
