Hi. I'm a bloghosts customer who has decided to host with you in light of bloghosts' current problems. This isn't really pre-sales, but it seems to be similar to other questions in this forum, so I'm putting it up here. Please let me know if it fits better elsewhere. Anyway, onto my concern.

Since I requested for an automatic transfer, I was told that my main domain would be the bloghosts one and the parked domain would be the new one I signed up for. This isn't a problem for me, in general. However, it's taking bloghosts a while for them to transfer over my domain name to me. As it stands, I'd have to access my TCH files using the servername/~account URL, and since I transfer a lot among computers and use ones that aren't my own, this is sort of a hassle. I was told over at the support desk that I was allowed to switch between my main domain (still tied up at and directing to bloghosts) and my parked domain (up less than an hour after I bought it, surprisingly  and already directing to TCH), but it would entail changing my account/username on the control panel.

My question is, then, how much hassle would it be for you (and me) for me to switch to my new domain as my main one for now (so that I can get easy access to files and such), and then switch back to my old bloghosts one once I get control over it?

I don't want to be a nuisance and put you guys out, so I'll just do it if all it'll require are a few keystrokes and no huge deal on your end.

Thanks very much!

Since your nameservers for the new domain are already pointing to TCH all you need to do is drop a ticket to the help desk telling them what you want to do.

Yes, I know it'll be that easy on my end (that, and changing my username/password, I was told), but I was also concerned about how much work it would be for the staff. Because I know you don't charge for the switching, but if I switch back and forth, it might be too much of a hassle for the support person, and I don't want that. So that's what I was asking after. If it's easy for them to do, then I'll definitely submit that support ticket, as I'd much prefer to having a domain name I can maneuver around right now.

I'm a former bloghosts customer going through the transfer as well, and I'd planned on doing just what Irina described, as BH is indeed taking FOREVER to give us all our domains.

Glad to hear that what I planned is acceptable, and even done pleasantly as well!

Never thought I'd find a company with support and service as good as bloghosts originally was, so thanks for proving me wrong TCH.

Just hope it's not a sign of things to come in the TCH future. :)

Only kidding . . .
