waynemac 0
Gidday, have been watching my traffic and I got a major attack from/thru www.jeteye.com today. I put on an IP block thru cPanel but a few other entries got thru. I checked their site and they babble on about spiders etc to build up their database etc. Anyone else had any problems with these people? Just wondering what it could be...their spiders/bots or someone passing thru or something else. Any feedback appreciated. Especially from someone at TCH. I love TCH`s service and support. Just hoping they can do something when there is an annomily (sp?) of a member`s site. I usually get 30 to 50 visits a day and I just saw 183 till now. Surely the bells are ringing at TCH HQ and the digi-boys and gals are moving to Code Yellow. Love, peace and unstolen bandwidth, Wayne in Japan Rock Sign PS I just checked back on my stats and theyre still getting thru. Should I do an IP block on their full IP of part of it, eg the first 65 to stop everyone from that region of the www? Also where can I find the robots.txt file so I can add User-agent: JetBot Disallow: / ?
MikeJ 0
I've seen other complaints about the way Jeteye spiders sites. You could try to block them through a robots.txt file (not sure if they honor that or not) by creating one in the root of your website (typically public_html unless it's a subdomain), or try IP denying them. They have the netblock that contains the IP addresses of 64.71.144.0 - 64.71.144.127. Or you could talk to Yoda and have him intervene. (ok.... really bad joke... ) Edited September 27, 2004 by TCH-MikeJ

waynemac 0
Mike, I liked the Yoda joke. I did an IP block but hmmmm. Will make up a robot.txt when I wake up in a few hours. Check out these stats for a laugh...luckily only 20MB has been ripped off but what are these people up to. I will never use them if they become a real search engine!!! jeth.jeteye.com 12 12 590.62 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:40 jety.jeteye.com 18 18 784.83 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:38 jetw.jeteye.com 18 18 814.14 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:37 jetu.jeteye.com 21 21 930.24 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:36 jeto.jeteye.com 14 14 503.58 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:35 jetaa.jeteye.com 15 15 702.93 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:29 jetk.jeteye.com 13 13 706.32 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:23 jetr.jeteye.com 20 20 990.06 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:22 jetcc.jeteye.com 20 20 948.27 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:19 jetx.jeteye.com 8 8 297.60 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:15 jetf.jeteye.com 14 14 646.47 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:14 jetee.jeteye.com 6 6 210.28 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:13 jeta.jeteye.com 6 6 222.11 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:03 ip75.jeteye.com 18 18 853.65 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:03 jetd.jeteye.com 16 16 749.64 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:03 jetc.jeteye.com 5 5 190.37 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 17:02 jetdd.jeteye.com 16 16 744.93 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:55 jetv.jeteye.com 5 5 177.62 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:53 jeti.jeteye.com 13 13 741.07 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:52 jetb.jeteye.com 15 15 687.65 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:51 jetq.jeteye.com 20 20 901.18 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:49 jetj.jeteye.com 6 6 220.58 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:48 jete.jeteye.com 5 5 262.20 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:47 jetz.jeteye.com 14 14 658.59 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:45 jetbb.jeteye.com 17 17 692.67 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:45 jetm.jeteye.com 22 22 955.38 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:43 jetff.jeteye.com 20 20 870.11 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:41 jetn.jeteye.com 14 14 743.03 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:32 jets.jeteye.com 12 12 558.68 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:31 jetl.jeteye.com 12 12 537.73 KB 27 Sep 2004 - 16:31 Wayne woooot
