hi, does anyone know how some sites use a loading script...they normally use a gif animation saying "loading" and then it appears to redirect to the page. I googled this and found one method but i'm not sure thats the way most people do it. They just use a div layer with css and change the layer from visible to invisible with a javascript function... So, does anyone know any other methods.

I created an example using a div layer....

Well, I usually prefer to create a loading progress bar, or something that actually displays the page loading progress instead of just having an animated GIF that will simply disappear when everything is loaded.

Try searching Google for "html loading progress bar" or variations of those keywords.

lol...check out that link u posted now... Google apparantly crawled this post as well...too funny

No Rob, don't try to confuse us. It's really simple: Google has a link to this thread because this thread has a link to a Google search that has a link to this thread on which there's a link to a Google search which has a link to this thread on which there's a link to a Google search that has a link to this thread on which there's a link to a Google search that.... is there an echo here?...

A lot of pages are using Flash. It is well suited to the task because there are ways to tell when a page loads so the progress bar is accurate.
