TCH-Thomas Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Last night I had a IM-conversation with my nephew, age 15. He said he will make a performance with some friends (story doesnt tell, but I think its in school) and he hopes he gets to play one of the instruments instead of singing. Why not sing I asked. Well, no one will stay to listen then he says. Since we both will attend a bday party on Saturday, I told him to sing this song for all at the party. No, I dont have the lyrics he say (happy written). Conversation ends. Then I searched for the lyrics and emailed him them within 5 minutes. Am I a bad uncle? Quote
Bunni Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 I don't think you're bad, Thomas. I think it's good to encourage children to use their talents. Quote
Don Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Sounds to me like he's going to run out of excuses real fast while you're around. Quote
jandafields Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 You know, sometimes emails get conveniently "lost in cyberspace..." Quote
Virtual Imager Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 It sounds like he's nervous about the performance. The practice run, in front of close family and supportive friends, will be very good for him if he chooses to look at it that way. You did him a big favor by sending him the lyrics. Hopefully he'll take advantage of the opportunity. Ultimately, though, it is his choice. If you try to force him, your good intentions will have crossed the line. IMHO. Let us know how this one plays out... VI Quote
