AlanV Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 No one can compete with Google Kinda cheap that it doesn't even have its own index... Quote
DarqFlare Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Amazon is really smart on this one: Use someone else's base search technology and improve upon it and then slap your name across it with a small credit somewhere to the base search engine. That's awesome stuff. They've saved a ton of money and made an innovation above Google. I think they might turn that into a good profit, because since Google is ubiquitous, A9 will be. Google success means A9 success, and people using A9 will also help insure Google stays atop. Wow. Quote
vfwlkr Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Heh, I signed into Amazon today and found that I'm eligible for a pi/2 = 1.7% discount across the board for having used A9.com Nice marketing. Quote
borfast Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Yeah, I noticed that pi/2 discount, too Well, personally, I find A9's interface really cool I'm still not sure if it's really that useful but it sure is cool to finally see some good use of JavaScript and DOM interaction in web sites like Gmail and A9 Quote
