TCH-Thomas Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Sorry for the poor topic title, but I dont know what to call this one. Long time ago I used to run a program named Catch up (from symantec I think) that looked which programs I had installed and then looked on the internet if there was any updates to them. Then symantec stopped this service. Does anyone know of a program like this? Quote
boxturt Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 That was something offered by CNET / Download.com. I guess now they offer an email list of updates, new stuff etc. I'll see if I can find something similar though. h*tp://www.download.com/1200-20-960126.html Quote
curtis Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 I did a google for catch up software and came up with these: ht*tp://www.sharewarejunkies.com/8c3/catchup.htm and ht*p://www.pcnet-online.com/content/utilities/199911.htm Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Thanks Boxturt. It must have been a co-what you call it- thing with symantec then, cause I remeber I had a icon for it in systemworks or internet security. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 (edited) Thanks Curtis. However, link 1 was only for shareware. Which this old catchup wasnt only for. Link 2 seems to not have been updated since 1999. Edited September 14, 2004 by Jikrantz Quote
TCH-Rob Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Not that I am of any help but I recall something called Oil Change that I think did the same thing. I will have to look around for you. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Take a look at BigFix. It appears to be for enterprise use, but they offer a free version home users. Quote
