tastewar Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 In awstats, all the visitors come up as unresolved IP. At my previous host, there was an option somewhere to enable these to be looked up automatically. Is there anything like that here? If not, it's the *one* area where you aren't better (IMO). prod, prod... Quote
TCH-Rick Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 You can edit your config file for AWStats to set it to resolve IPS, add an update now link, etc. Go to this topic to find out more about it. Quote
KevinW Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Hey, Ricky - but wasn't there an issue about changes to the conf file being rwritten over the next day? If so, how was that resolved? -kw Quote
TCH-Rick Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Oh, ye Keeper of the Help Pages, you need to consult the link found here. (If you don't want to look, it's a matter of changing the permission of the config file you edit to 444.) Quote
Head Guru Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 I have a feeling those with the chomded protected stats files may want to set em back, as a very exciting update is coming down the pipes soon. I can say no more. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Thanks, O Cryptic Guru. Think I will head over to reset the permissions now. Quote
tastewar Posted March 25, 2003 Author Posted March 25, 2003 Can't wait! I'll hold off on chmod'ing my config file for now... HG Rocks! Quote
Mark Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 A question and suggestion.......... Has the "exciting update" happened yet? Whenever the update takes place, may I suggest that we figure out some way to allow the user to change at least the skiphost option to skip his own IP? I am pretty sure that nobody would want to see his stats include his own access, but then again, maybe somebody would. I understand why you can't hand code each .conf file, but there has to be a way to take care of this. I used awstats on another site, and modified the .conf to display as I wished. It is nice to have it here too, but a little disappointed that I can't have updates if I have to make it read-only to modify it. If we can put a man on the moon, we can surely figure this one out. Head Guru Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Updates to AWstats - I am pushing the updates to all the servers tonight. Quote

Mark Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 What???? Man, I think I signed up with the wrong group. Quote
tastewar Posted April 11, 2003 Author Posted April 11, 2003 ... a very exciting update is coming down the pipes soon... OK, I see that my stats were generated today, and in fact IP's are now resolved! That's great! It's just what I asked for. Now, what "exciting update" is escaping my (limited) attention? Quote
Head Guru Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Well, the IP resolving issue was that big update. Quote
